8 Years Late to the Party

Instead of enjoying summer like my dad insisted, these photos will better explain why I choose to work an extra 8-10 hours per week outside my full-time job.

After accessing my income for the month of June, I decided to invest half the extra pocket money I saved and finally be the owner of an Xbox 360. I might be 8 years late and 10 years older than everyone else, but I honestly believe it’s never too late to enjoy the beauty of games from the last generation consoles. Face it, I was not going to be satisfied with just watching people on Youtube play every game that I missed during my childhood. I am proud to now be a part of the action.

And since the PS4 is my raincheck graduation present until Far Cry 4 is released in November, I will never miss out on anything again. But I will have to somehow create room for it since my new Xbox 360 is already pushing my Wii U to the edge!

I love older generation consoles. I’m still on a PS2 and a Gamecube, and I recently purchased a Wii a few years too late. All the online stuff and extra costs put me off newer consoles, even if I do have to listen to people moaning about how awful the graphics are on the old games!

I take it the extra hours were worth it then?
xx

Awful graphics shouldn’t determine how good a game is but hardcore gamers might beg to differ. I’m surprised that you’d rather buy a Wii than a newer console. The Wii isn’t like the Xbox 360 or PS3 – Wii games are expensive the older they are.

I’m pretty surprised you didn’t have an X Box 360. I thought you owned nearly every game console out there. That’s awesome though! Can’t wait to see some reviews of games on the 360 (not that I own one, but I always like gaining some new insight for when others ask me random questions about gaming…)

Lmao you must be confusing me with Cat! I’m more of a gamer enthusiast than a gamer because I never really have time or energy to play. I wasn’t allowed to play back in high school so only recently did I start grabbing game deals (that I do play whenever I get to). I’ve only owned Nintendo consoles until this Xbox!

NICE. XD Well deserved, too. I used to have a lot of old consoles… actually, our family still does – PS, PS2, Nintendo 64, all the way back to the Sega Megadrive (yay). I wish I was more into games… I know I posted earlier this year about getting back into gaming, but recently, I’ve realised I don’t really have the time, and I don’t make gaming a priority. I’ve even thought of getting rid of my PC, since I am not using it much. I was going to upgrade it and get into games again, but I clearly have other hobbies that keep me occupied, and upgrading my PC isn’t going to be worth it for the time I will want to play on it. :C Sad (sort of), but it doesn’t upset me, that’s just how it is… haha 🙂

I definitely don’t have the time to play games. I’ve played a total of 10 minutes of this Xbox so far and it probably won’t be touched again for a while. =( My mom thinks I have an addiction problem because I’ve bought as many games as a hardcore gamer but actually play less than a casual gamer. Doesn’t mean I’m not serious about playing though. Every week I look forward to the three hours on the weekend I can dedicated to playing. There are so many games I want to play too so I play each for about 20 minutes. =/ It’s rather sad and there’s nothing I can do about it.

No one is too old for the enjoyment of games.! It’s also great that you worked hard to buy something that you want and take pleasure in. Life will be boring if you work hard and don’t play! 😀

Congrats on getting a Xbox 360! I still play games on the previous generation, haha. There’s still a bunch of 360 and PS3 games in my backlog. There’s even PS2 games I’ve been meaning to play, though I’m not sure if I’ll ever get around to them at this point…

Haha I still play SNES games (but the difference is that I don’t have an SNES console).

my xbox 360 overheated and died and bailed on me. ever since then i’ve stopped playing consoles. bless bethesda for having the elder scrolls on pc, ha… i haven’t played oblivion though but my friend said it’s boring and that skyrim’s better? i think he’s saying so just because skyrim has dragon while oblivion does not haha.

but eh, skyrim gets boring fast too anyway.

you just remind me how i need to install far cry to my pc. thanks for that hah… i still need to play fallout too pfft too many games to play. and no, one simply does not grow too old for games. video games are forever!
